Project story
The brief
A dark, damp side of the garden under mature trees where grass refused to grow. The owners wanted a way through it and planting that would actually thrive in shade.
What we did
We laid a winding path of reclaimed stone stepping pads set in gravel, then planted ferns, hostas, hellebores and woodland grasses into improved leaf-mould soil.
The result
A cool woodland walk that’s green year-round, needs very little maintenance and connects the house to a new seating spot at the back of the garden.
