The brief
A bare rectangle of lawn with a fence at the end. The family wanted a dining terrace big enough for friends, planting to soften the edges, and space left over for the children to play.
What we did
We designed a sandstone terrace off the kitchen doors, reshaped the lawn with curved edges and planted deep mixed borders with shrubs for privacy. A pergola frames the dining area.
The result
A garden that works for every age: a sheltered terrace for meals, a usable lawn for play, and borders that give privacy without feeling closed in.
